Living in a visual world crosses disciplines. Visual communication portrays messages that surpasse words and audio, even invisible to some until the message "fails." I have a passion for not only creating effective visual messages but also teaching those how to communicate those messages. As an experienced user of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and the entire Creative Suite, I create press-ready and Internet-ready designs for any client with a clean, professional look.
Layout is design. Whether on a newspaper front page, poster, annual report, brochure or the like, the standards and principles of design help create strong visual messages. When designing these items, I focus on those principles as well as up-to-date eye-tracking and consumer messaging research to create strong, flexible layouts with crafted and pointed messages for your audience. Illustrating gives me the opportunity to take a message and use the journalistic principles and create a story through an image turned illustration. My portfolio includes examples of journalism graphics of maps, theatres and scuba diving as well as interactive flash examples using illustrations of airplanes, cameras and lenses and scuba diving.
